Advisor to the Prime Minister on Women Development, Nilofer Bakhtiar urged the youth to actively participate in the campaign for collection of funds for Tsunami victims. She was addressing a ceremony regarding collection of funds for Tsunami victims of Indonesia at Pakistan Red Crescent Society, here on Wednesday.

Students of Roots Montessori and High School, Rawalpindi presented a cheque of Rs 3 million and relief items to Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Jahan Dad Khan for Tsunami victims.

Secretary General of PRCS Khalid Kibriya, Vice Chairman, Saeed Qureshi, principal of the Roots School, Rifat Mushtaq, teachers and large number of students were also present in the ceremony.

Nilofer appreciated the contribution of students of Roots Montessori High School, who donate their pocket money for the victims.

She said that our target is to collect Rs 50 million for Tsunami victims.

PRCS will organise walks, marathons in different cities of the country and concerts for collection of more funds, she added.

While appreciating the contribution of young volunteers Jahan Dad Khan said that the spirit displayed by the students is praiseworthy and the disaster has re-energised volunteers, particularly the youth and children.

He further said that PRCS will continue the campaign with the help of young volunteers.
